What is Acupuncture? – Speaker: Adam Trager Acupuncturist, Will be discussing: What is Acupuncture, How it works, What to expect on your first visit, Conditions that can be treated, NAET, Muscle testing, Diet & Lifestyle, Supplements/ Nutrition. He will perform a demonstration and take questions afterwards.
Why Dental Implants? Restorative Dentistry Solutions for Patients Missing Single & Multiple Teeth. Speaker: Christine Schumm from Straumann Implants & Restorative Materials: This program will provide an overview of the appropriate indications and prosthetic applications for dental implant treatment. Restorative options will be presented from fully edentulous cases to multiple/single implant cases. We will discuss treatment planning for esthetic success and the restoration process with prosthetic component options.
Maximizing Periodontal Therapy in the Restorative Practice. Speaker: Dr Alan Farber: This program will focus on the innovative approaches to establishing optimal periodontal therapy in the hygiene department, and discuss regenerative therapies in everyday clinical practice. Participants will receive tips and tools for optimizing periodontal therapy. We will explore the advances, capabilities and benefits of periodontal regeneration. Emphasis is placed on implementing effective treatment protocols and establishing effective practices and patient communication to enhance case presentation and case acceptance of these therapies.
Dr. Alan Farber completed the accredited advanced specialty education program in periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of dental medicine in 1987. He was president of both the Suffolk County Dental Society and the Northeastern Society of Periodontists. He is presently Founder and director of Long Island Dental Forum, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Periodontics at the State University of New York School of Dentistry at Stony Brook. He currently maintains practices in Medford & Hauppauge, Long Island for the past 25 years.
Valerie Carro, RDH: has a dental hygiene degree from Farmingdale University. She has been practicing hygiene for 25 years and has been a member of our team since 1989. Valerie has advance training in non-surgical Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and also clinical training on Perioscopy.
Helga Popko, RDH: has a dental hygiene degree from Farmingdale University, a B.S. degree in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s College and a M.S. in Health Policy and Management from State University of New York at Stony Brook. Helga has been practicing hygiene for over thirty years and has been a member of our team since 1998. She is an adjunct faculty member at Farmingdale State College, Department of Dental Hygiene since 2002.
Long Island Dental Forum: was established by Dr Farber in 1996. LIDF is affiliated with the Seattle Study Club, a closely allied network of over two hundred and fifty study clubs across the country, to provide the highest quality of programming. The programs bring the members the most current industry developments and techniques and also include practice management seminars for improved teamwork and productivity.
