Meet our Staff
Our dedicated team combined totals over 5 decades of dental experience. Our goal is to provide you, our patient with as comfortable an experience as possible. We will also be glad to provide you with any information on periodontics, dental implants, as well as any clarification regarding your insurance estimates or statements from our office.

Administrative Staff
Denise
Denise is married and has a teenage daughter. Denise graduated from Westbury Tech in 1970, as a certified dental assistant. Denise has worked as an assistant in orthodontics, periodontics and general dentistry until 1975 at which time she became an office manager. She relocated to California in 1982, where she was an office administrator for several large dental groups. Denise and her family returned to New York in 1993 and has been working in periodontics since then.
Denise joined the team at Long Island Periodontal Professionals in 1995, when she moved to Suffolk County. She primarily runs the Medford office.
Outside the office Denise's interests include camping, music, reading, sewing and cooking. Please feel free to contact Denise at denise@longislandperio.com.
Marcy
When she's not in the office you can find Marcy and her husband in Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Originally from Pennsylvania, she trained there as an expanded duty dental assistant. Marcy has been in the dental field for the past twenty eight years.
She has run the Deer Park office for the past seven years. Marcy is the Director of Operations for the Long Island Dental Forum, a professional organization of dentists.
She resides in Lake Ronkonkoma with her husband and three children, 2 of which are in college. Marcy loves all sports from baseball to bowling and you can often find her and her husband coaching children. Please feel free to contact Marcy at marcy@longislandperio.com.
Surgical Assisting Team
Darlene
When not helping patients in the office, you might find Darlene putting out fires. Darlene has been a volunteer firefighter since 1983.
She has more than twelve years of experience in the periodontal field. Darlene has been working in the Smithtown office for all this time. You now can find her in different days at our other locations.
Outside of dentistry her hobbies include photography, bird watching, lighthouses and animals are a big interest of hers. Congratulations Darlene, on your engagement! Wedding to be held October 2001.
Donna
Born and raised in Long Island, Donna and her family moved to Boca Raton in 1989 only to return 2 years later. She was able to repurchase her home in North Babylon where she lives with her husband, son (22 years old) and daughter (14) years old.
Donna has more than twenty five years experience as a dental assistant. Her experience is not only limited to periodontics, but she has had extensive training in orthodontics, general dentistry and oral surgery. Donna has been a member of our team for the past five years.
Hygiene Team
Valerie
Born and raised in West Islip, Valerie now lives with her husband (Kevin), and two daughters, Vanessa (8) and Jillian (6).
Valerie has been practicing dental hygiene for 13 years and has been with Long Island Periodontal Professionals for twelve of them.
Outside of work you can find Valerie playing piano or cutting hair (she's a licensed beautician). Sorry family only!!
Carol
Originally living in the Huntington area, Carol now lives in Eastern Suffolk County. She initially worked as a dental hygiene teacher in the public school system. She has more than twenty years experience as a dental hygienist most of which have been spent in both periodontal and prosthodontic offices.
Carol is in her sixth year with Long Island Periodontal Professionals. You can find her both in the Medford and Deer Park locations.
Helga
Born and raised in Smithtown, NY, Helga now lives in Rocky Point with her two sons, Timothy (10 yrs old) and Jonathan (6 years old).
She has a dental hygiene degree from Farmingdale University, a B.S. degree in Health Administration from St. Joseph's College and a M.S. in Health Policy and Management from State University of New York at StonyBrook. Helga has been practicing hygiene for nineteen years and has been a member of our team since 1998.
