Dr. Alan Farber completed the accredited Advanced Specialty Education Program in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of dental medicine in 1987. He was president of both the Suffolk County Dental Society and the Northeastern Society of Periodontists. He is presently Founder and Director of Long Island Dental Forum, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Periodontics at the State University of New York School of Dentistry at Stony Brook. He currently maintains practices in Hauppauge & Medford, Long Island for the past 25 years.
Long Island Dental Forum: was established by Dr. Farber in 1996. LIDF is affiliated with the prestigious Seattle Study Club, an international network of doctors interested in furthering their knowledge to provide excellent care to each and every patient that comes into their practice. Each of the 250+ clubs meet regularly for interactive educational programs, discussion on the latest developments in dentistry, and presentations by world-renowned clinical speakers. With the support of Seattle Study Club, LIDF was launched, furthering the launch of LIDHF. Long Island Dental Hygiene Forum is an excellent platform for hygienists to participate in programs that bring them the most current industry developments and techniques in a community of their fellow colleagues.
Tooth Alignment & Comprehensive Oral Health: Invisalign & Pre-Implant Orthodontics – Speaker Dr. David Amram is a graduate of Harvard University, School of Dental Medicine & earned his post-doctoral degree in Orthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Amram is an Invisalign “Elite” provider, participates in “Smiles Change Lives” of Suffolk County, volunteers with Make-A-Wish Foundation, and is a mentor for young dentists in the Master Series for Comprehensive Treatment Planning through Farber Center.
Why Some Toothaches Don’t Go Away? & Does My Patient Have a Sleep Disorder? – Speaker Dr. Donald Tanenbaum has been in practice for over 25 years, focusing primarily on facial pain, TMD, & sleep-related breathing disorders. A graduate of Columbia Univ. School of Dental & Oral Surgery, Dr. Tanenbaum is currently Clinical Assistant Prof. at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, Clinical Assistant Prof. at Hofstra North Shore, LIJ School of Medicine, & Section Head of the Division of Orofacial Pain/TMD/Dental Sleep Medicine in the Dept. of Dental Medicine at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
Recognizing Endodontic Problems in Your Patients – Speaker Dr. Christopher Joubert grew up in Commack, graduated with high honors from the Univ. of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before earning his D.D.S. at Stony Brook Univ. School of Dental Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the department of Endodontics & is also a mentor for young dentists in the Master Series for Comprehensive Treatment Planning with Farber Center.
