Our offices at Farber Center for Periodontic and Dental Implants are open six days a week including Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturdays. We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible. If you have pain or an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you that day. Seven day a week, 24 hour emergency care is available to all patients of record. Simply call any of our offices for instructions if you need emergency care.
We try to stay on schedule to minimize waiting at the time of your appointment. In order to accomplish this we schedule only one patient per appointment time. Referral of emergency patients can cause delays to the schedule, and your understanding and patience are very much appreciated.
Please assist us at the time of your initial visit to the office by providing the following information:
- your referral slip and x-rays from your referring dentist.
- a list of medications you are currently taking (please note that you can fill out your patient registration and medical history form on this web page.)
- if you have dental insurance, please bring any forms or insurance cards with you to the appointment.
Please Note: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the examination and consultation appointment.
Please notify the office prior to your first appointment if you have any of the following medical conditions or any concerns: for example; a history of a heart murmur, mitral valve prolapse, rheumatic fever, artificial joints of valves, or any artificial prosthesis.
If your referring dentist has taken x-rays, you may request that they be forwarded to us. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
SmartPReP®2 APC+™ (Platelet Rich Plasma)
Today it is becoming standard-of-care to use autologous(from your own body) biomaterials to naturally stimulate the healing process.
The original SmartPReP system was the first and only system specifically designed for the rapid preparation of autologous platelet concentrate enriched with growth factors (APC+™).
Our office uses this technique which allows us to enhance your healing by using a concentration of platelets from your blood. It is called Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP. Platelets are not only responsible for blood clotting, but they also contain growth factors needed to promote wound healing.
How is the procedure performed?
- We will draw 20cc of your blood, about the same amount that is drawn at a routine physical examination
- Then process your blood in a special centrifuge to concentrate your platelets.
- They are then concentrated in a centrifuge and then added back to the surgical site.
What are the benefits?
- less swelling
- less discomfort
- more rapid wound healing during the early weeks after surgery
This process is performed in our office immediately prior to your surgical appointment.
