What are the Signs of Periodontal Diseases?

 

 

Warning signs:

 

The following are the most common symptoms of periodontal diseases:

  • bleeding gums during tooth brushing and flossing
  • red, swollen or tender gums
  • gums that have pulled away from the teeth
  • persistent bad breath
  • pus between the teeth and gums
  • loose or separated teeth
  • a change the way your teeth fit together when you bite
  • a change in the fit of partial dentures

You may have periodontal disease and not have any of these symptoms. Most of our patients do not experience pain with periodontal diseases.

    Had surgery on one quadrant last week. Had another quadrant done a few months ago. Procedures went well and the post-op period was uneventful both times. After seeing periodontists for over 30 years I feel that I can say that Dr. Chris is a gem. Nice person and great doctor.     Dr. Farber did a very complicated procedure and I expected to have discomfort and lots of swelling on the subsequent days. I was really surprised that with frequent icing, and the medications he prescribed, I was neither black and blue nor in pain. How did that happen? He and his staff are professional, friendly and very competent.

They went over everyting before and after the surgery to put me at ease and make sure I was well informed on what was to come and what to do when I went home.
